Ding 26; Ding 27; Dueling Adventures; New Resolution

I had quite a weekend, what with my wife being tired and all. I got to play Saturday afternoon and a little on Sunday before my scheduled guild time. More on that a bit later. I got up 2 more levels, got Deadr back up over 300g and to 288 Enchanting, and made some UI changes.

First, and easiest, I changed my screen resolution to nearly double the vertical pixels and strangely noticed a slight increase in my framerate. ~hmmm~ It must be the aspect ratio that was not kind to my video card; some non-native scanning that was driving it bonkers. I used to have bouts of 4-8 fps, but after the change, I never saw it less than 11, even outside. I like it. I like it. So will you, as my screenshots of items and text will be much nicer.

Next, the biggest dueling jerk ever. I was still level 26 (granted, totally twinked with 120g of gear and enchants) when I was turning in the quest reward for killing Arikara. As I ran up to the turn-in tauren, I got a duel request from a level 32 hunter named Morgnthorg. The first fight was over in about 10 seconds…with yours truly the victor. I even started the fight in Aspect of the Cheetah mode. Seconds after the fight was over and I was back at the turn-in writing up a GM ticket for it not working, he’s whispering me that he was kidding the first time…this time will be funny as he pwns me…clucking and flapping his arms doing the /chicken. After I wrote the ticket, I came up to him and invited him to an a$$-kicking.

I came, I saw, I wiped the floor with him, although not as soundly this time, to his only credit. Here is how that one went:

Edit: I totally forgot to mention that the real kicker was that after I beat him the second time, he immediately put me on his /ignore list. What an idiot.

I would love it if someone could look up his gear on Armory for me while I’m at work and let me know what his schtuff looks like. How bad is it to have 1185 mana? I got some nice blue Barbaric Bracers this morning, so those might not show up in my armory profile, but I updated both RPG Outfitter profiles.

I had scheduled guild time, but K was not feeling like herself most of the weekend, and with working 55 hours last week and half the day Saturday, I didn’t really want to rush off to the computer. I got the kitchen tidied up and the dishes stowed (my realm of cleaning) and we chatted for a while. I finally went to the office (45 minutes late) to blast away with my blue Double-Barreled Shotgun when the phone rang.

It was my parents. They were at the mall 30 minutes from their house because there was an open house ot the home for the realtors in the area. They watched a movie and were calling to see if they could stop by and waste some more time because they hadn’t called to give the the OK to head home. *SHOOT*

Now, I love my parents a lot, and they aren’t annoying or pressuring about coming over, so Dad offered to take us out to dinner, his treat. Aww, geez, I already spent 45 minutes preparing a pot roast for dinner that was going to come out at 7:00 when my guild time was over. Not having any “real good” reason to say that it was a bad idea, I asked K, and she said it was bad timing, but OK since we had just made the place spotless again and had food already coming out.

They brought over a Blockbuster movie and we ate a gloriously tender top round with carrots, potatoes, and onions. They went home shortly after 8:00, and by 8:30 I was on Bloodr trying to level before bed. It didn’t happen until this morning, but mission accomplished, nonetheless.

Sorry I missed the guild time my wife would not leave and she told me no on the playing time while she was home. I got on a little later and Mind and Snow were still on so we chatted for a while and I dinged 19. yeah me /lol

Love to look him up for you boss but a few essential things needed…. Well one actually will help narrow it down. What guild we looking in for him… Might make the look up faster.

    =)

Oh, gosh, I have no recollection or close-ups of him to tell you. I didn’t imagine that there are too many Morgnthorgs out there, though. Am I wrong?

He is an Orc Hunter and should be lvl 32 or 33. I wish I had met him again with my better resolution. Thanks, Snow.

Btw…when are you due, or do you have it “scheduled?”

Morning folks – sorry for not being around much this weekend. Was at my folks place most of Saturday and Sunday.

Good duel write ups. I’ve found that in most cases, the folks that constantly send blind duel invites are bored kids. Every now and then you meet someone that’s actually pretty good that’s just looking to work on technique. They’ll hang out and chat afterward and will throw you a /salute when it’s all said and done.

The asshat to quiet professional ratio is pretty skewed though.

Hope you had a good time. Is your back sore from more household chores this weekend? Moving rocks from point A to point B sucks.

I found your Boy he has pretty weak gear and he is Hybrid specced which is very odd for a hunter from what i hear.

Cool. I thought so. Speaking of spec again, I re-tooled according to BRK…and I LOVE it! I think I have 3/5 Ferocity now, so I’m on track for getting some cool stuff with Intimidation soon. Shoot. Maybe I didn’t even spend my point this morning, although I seem to remember doing so. Memory is a sad thing to waste.

As far as moving rocks from point A to point B – I can’t recommend it. I had my Xterra’s back loaded with so many that I bottomed the shocks out. Not good.

But the wife now has a rather formidable rock-garden hemmed planter that she’s building along with walkways and the like in our yard. She’s happy to contend with all of that labor by herself – all I have to do is collect said rocks and transport them for her. So it could be worse.

Guild meeting? where when?! (ours?) Man totally sorry for the lack of playing on Kel this weekend, Ive gotten some awe inspired leveling-like-a-mad-man on Ex (hes gonna ding 64 tomorrow or so hopefully) and im SOOO close to getting my epic mount (bout 100g or so to go!) and i cant wait. I gotta find time for Kel and chill/level/quest/instance with you guys (maybe) this weekend!

At least one of us has the smarts enough to find him. =) As for when I am due. Yeah it is scheduled for the 4th of April but Mind and I both think that this is prolly going to happen sooner. We will be sure to keep y’all posted though as soon as we get news so will you guys.

That is one prime reason I almost always turn down duel challenges. They are always 5+ level above and they have no sportmanship whatsoever… fun with the name & shame though =)

I hope that build works out for you he sure seems to enjoys it.

Let’s just say I totally wrecked everything I needed to kill for the quest just southeast of base in Ashenvale…the infernals, succubi, and felguards. They were mostly 29s and 30s.

It was pretty funny to see what I did to the water elementals and an Alliance 26 hunter while scouting out the gazebo on the lake, too. Maybe I should do BGs for a while if Sunforge hasn’t dinged 30 yet.

  • Lance said:

Cool I am really liking My Mage I can kill pretty easily and dont die that much. I will most likely ding 20 2maro since I wont be at work. maybe I will hit the battle grounds before I hit 20 so I will be uber. /lol

I haven’t dinged 30 yet. I parked Sun’ in Thunderbluff for a little bit and have been trying to get in a BG or two every day or so in order to have enough marks and honor to get a SGT’s cape and a PvP trinket at 30.

Our battlegroup is … challenged… We have some good people in them but the Alliance teams are strong, organized, and geared to beat the band. We’ve been winning about one game in three I think. PvP as a Pally is taking some getting used to as well. Since non-twinked level 29 pallies can’t dps their ways out of wet paper bags – I’ve been trying to fill the role of ‘combat medic’. Problem is – the alliance teams are smart enough to look for the healers and mob them first. My team mates on the other hand are taking a rather alliance like approach and trying to engage targets one on one instead of focusing firing. The end result is that group dps > individual dps and they win.
